GOVERNOR KAINE ANNOUNCES
85 NEW JOBS
Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Mother
Parkers Tea & Coffee Inc. will invest $40.1 million to open
a roasting facility in the Town of Ashland in Hanover
County, creating 85 jobs.

ceremony 9-10:00am, Town Hall. Rain or shine. Join
us to plant the town Christmas Tree. Refreshments, kids
activities and information on tree planting and care. We'll also
kick off PLANT150 - our effort to plant 150 trees in Ashland to
honor our 150th Anniversary! Afterwards, we will spruce up
the town by cleaning up Carter and DeJarnette Parks - in
cooperation with "Ma-con a Difference" Day. For

2008 marks the 150th
birthday of the Town of Ashland,
better known to residents as “The Center of the Universe.”
To celebrate the Sesquicentennial, preparations have already
begun, including plans for a community & family history
book, the Ashland Yearbook.
We are looking for narratives from families, schools,
churches, cemetaries, businesses, military organizations
(social, civic, fraternal).
